Mike began his career as an engineer's assistant on an experimental paper-making machine at the Pulp & Paper Research Institute of Canada in Montreal before moving to Toronto to work for Bell as a telephone installer/repairman. He moved to BC in 1982 and spent the next decade providing sales and technical support services for telecommunications equipment for a national distribution firm.
When the telecommunications field merged with "Datacom", Mike applied his aptitude for hands-on work to new positions as lead hand in charge of installing complex datacom systems for projects such as the 2010 Olympics, SFU, UBC, Langara College, and Delta, Surrey and Royal Jubilee Hospitals. His passion for building and collecting tools combined with his eclectic background enable him to perform a wide variety of tasks, from fixing a leaky faucet to rebuilding a deck to building a fibre optic data network. Mike has always had a knack for fixing things and relishes opportunities to solve new challenges.
According to Mike's colleagues, when a project gets tough or complicated, he remains calm and collected until everything comes together and the customer is satisfied. That's why he is the Levelheaded Handyman.
